Obituary Overview
Lovingly Remembered
Edward recently passed in his 99th year at the Colonel Belcher assisted living. A native Calgarian, he was the oldest son of Phillip and Katherine of Bridgeland district. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years Elizabeth (Bette) (nee Millar) in 2000, his brothers Ivan (Doris), Gene, Sam and sister Caroline (Fred) Jamieson. He is survived by sisters-in-law Ester and Connie Befus and special friend Doreen Carlisle.
In his declining years, nieces Candice (Paul) Stolz of Chestermere and Eldene Miller of Calgary and nephew Grant Miller of North Bay, ON have supported him in his life’s journey. Ed was employed by Calgary Transit until retirement then turned his attention to running the family farm south of Spruce Meadows in co-operation with siblings and in-laws. Ed was a WW II Veteran and commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Highland Light Infantry (Canada). Ed has been a long standing member of the Legion. He was an avid curler for most of his life and enjoyed lawn bowling in later years. Sports events such as hockey, baseball and curling were followed intensely. Thank you to the wonderful staff of Colonel Belcher for the care, respect and enjoyment in the last years of his life.
