Veno, Edna Muriel – age 73 of Tatamagouche, passed away April 29, 2018 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre after a short battle with cancer. Born in Lower Wentworth, she was the daughter of Gladys (Green, Crawford) Langille, Tatamagouche and the late Lloyd Crawford. Edna graduated from Pugwash District High School and Halifax Vocational School and was employed at various places in Halifax before returning to Tatamagouche where she was employed at the Bank of Nova Scotia for 33 years, retiring in 2000. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary in Tatamagouche and was active in her community. She enjoyed bowling, family gatherings, helping the Food Bank, spending summers visiting different camp grounds with the travel trailer and listening to her favourite singer, Daniel O’Donnell and watching her favourite curler, Brad Gushue. Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Cameron; sister, Helen (Chester) Estabrooks; brother, Boyd (Debbie), both of Amherst. Sister-in-law, Marie Miller; brothers-in-law, Vernon (Carol), Ken (Verna), Ronnie (Louie) and Phillip; many nieces and nephews; special boys, Justin and Josh. She was predeceased by her father, Lloyd Crawford (1984); brother, Curtis (2012); grandparents, Lannis and Ida Crawford and James and Ina Green; many aunts and uncles; step-father, Ron Langille. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, May 2 in Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 3 in Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche, Rev. Penny Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Lockerby Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Tatamagouche Legion, Tatamagouche Fire Department, Lockerby Cemetery or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated. A special thank you is extended to the staff of Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital for the comfort and care given to Edna.
