Obituary
Howell, Edna Adelaide passed away peacefully on April 4, 2018 in Coquitlam, BC at the age of 89. Predeceased by her husband Ernie, sons David and Bob, brother Bill and sister Elaine. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Alan, daughter Elaine (Al), daughter-in-law Denise, and grandchildren Tara and Alex.
Edna grew up in Cloverdale and Langley, BC where, after graduation, she went to work as a stenographer for the Veterans Land Act office. After a few years with the VLA, she left and went to work at the offices of the BC Electric in Langley, and later the Royal Bank in New Westminster. In 1959, Edna & her husband purchased a house on Alberta Street in New Westminster, which Edna called home for the next 50 years and where she made many lasting friendships. Edna had a strong sense of community and had volunteered for the Boy Scouts, the PTA, the Cerebral Palsy Association as well as St. Mary’s Church. Edna will be fondly remembered for her quick smile, her gentle nature, and her gracious and welcoming manner.
Very special thanks to the staff at Dufferin Care Centre for the care and kindness shown to Edna during her stay with them.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 20th, 2018 at 11 am at St. Mary’s Church in Sapperton, 121 East Columbia Street, New Westminster, BC. Interment to follow at Fraser Cemetery.
