During that time, he met the love of his life, Shirley. They married in 1967 and moved to Chatham where they lived for more than 45 years. They purchased a home which Ed renovated, and Shirley decorated. Their home was a source of joy and pride for them. Ed worked for the Southwest Regional Centre in Cedar Springs during those years. He loved hockey, dancing, hunting, fishing, and anything he could build. Throughout the years, their grandchildren and great grandchildren were a tremendous source of joy for them.
