Edith Irene Easton
With sadness we announce the passing of Edith Irene Easton on November 13, 2018.
Edith was born on October 30, 1929 in Lanigan, Saskatchewan. She moved to Edmonton with her family where she met her husband Donald. After their marriage in 1947, they moved to a number of different posts with the RCAF. From Germany in the 1950’s to Edmonton in the 60’s, Ontario, and eventually to Vancouver Island for retirement. Mom and Dad’s life was a wonderful journey together. With the passing of her beloved of 49 years, she returned home to Edmonton to be with her family.
From the start, Edith was a strong determined and compassionate person. Where ever she went she made everyone’s life about her a little bit better. In the words of Will Rogers, she never met a person that she didn’t like. Mom was always a happy outgoing person and always looked forward to the next adventure.
Edith (Edie) was predeceased by husband Don, sister Muriel (Molly), and brother Les. She is survived by her children Glen (Janice) and Darv (Ardith), 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, her brothers Ray, Max, Don, Al, Bryan, sister Patricia and many nieces and nephews. While we will all miss her deeply, we know that she is at peace.
Cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at Evergreen Funeral Home (16204 Fort Road. Access only off 153 Avenue.), followed by a celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion – Kingsway Branch (14339 50 St NW, Edmonton), Thursday, 29 Nov 2018 at 1PM. Memorial donations to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
