It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edgar (Ed) Dubois on Monday, February 19 at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. He was born on October 21, 1966 in Sudbury, ON. He is survived by his loving family: his spouse, Kathy; his sons, Jonrian (Jessica) and Dylan Dubois; his daughter, Daryn Dubois; his sister, Dorothy Morin and family; his step-mother, Barb Dubois; his brother-in-law, Allan (Sherry) Rishchynski and family; and his sister-in-law, Liza Brown and family; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; he will also be fondly remembered by Jonrian’s mother, Lori Cleland (Richard). Ed was predeceased by his mother, Jeannette Martin; his father, Leo Dubois; his step-father, Fred St-George; his brother-in-law, Ray Rishchynski; his father-in-law, Louis Rishchynski; and his mother-in-law, Jackie Rishchynski. Ed worked at Canada Post as an RSMC, but his real love was his work with Special Olympics as co-chair and as coach/manager of several Foxes female hockey teams. He was proud of all of his girls and will be fondly remembered as “Mama Bear’. He also served for 10 years in the Irish Regiment reserves as Corporal (retired). He enjoyed sharing stories of his time with his fellow soldiers, and will be fondly remembered by them as well. Ed was so very proud of his family and spent his free time with his children and their many interests. He will be missed and loved by many. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Donations in Ed’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1738 Quebec Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1V9, or Special Olympics Saskatchewan, 1121 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK, S4R 1J5.
