Eckhert George Louis – 2018

George Louis Eckhert Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, June 25, 2018 at his home in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. He was born in Buffalo, New York on June 13, 1945 and was the eldest son of Mary Hoffman Eckhert and George Louis Eckhert Sr. George is survived by his wife Neisha Eckhert, his brother Philip Eckhert and his family, his sister Sandra Eckhert and her family, his son William George, and his grandson Aadam. Step-daughter Samantha, step-grandchildren Meleana, Nicholas and Leo.
George attended elementary, junior high and high school in the town of Amherst, New York, graduating in 1963 after which he attended and graduated from Brown University. Following graduation he moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, where he had since lived, earning an MBA from the University of Toronto in 1982.
George was a consultant and tutor/teacher for most of his career. He was a former member of the Institute of Management Consultants of Ontario and Chair of its Professional Standards Committee. He was a Professional Associate at the University of Toronto Centre for Industrial Relations and an Instructor for the Centre’s HR Management Systems course. He was also a certified instructor in Study Technology with Applied Scholastics, a past Director of the Ontario Federation of Independent Schools, a former Dean of Elementary Students at a private Montessori School, and a visiting staff instructor at the College of Administration in Los Angeles, California.
George was a founding patron of the International Association of Scientology in 1986 and later was the founding organizer of Forest Heights improvement activities in the City of Mississauga.
George was also the founder and President of Eckhert Education where, since 2006, he had tutored and trained over 600 students. He excelled in helping others succeed in learning what is new, complex, unfamiliar or difficult for them.
George was a great example of a fine, decent and an extremely ethical individual. He will be remembered fondly by his many family and friends. His constant sense of humor, commitment to the community and love for giving back to society will be remembered by all and especially by his students.
Funeral Services will be performed by Reverend Earl Smith and Hajj Zafrullah Khan at the St. John’s Dixie Cemetery and Crematorium, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga, ON L4Y 2B5.
