OBITUARY
COUGHRAN, Earle David Raymond, January, 7 1944 – September 30 2018, Lower Sackville It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our loving father and devoted son Earle Coughran. He passed peacefully at home in Sackville on September 30. To say he enjoyed his grandchildren would be an understatement. Watching them grow up was one of life’s most simple pleasures. Earle would marvel and talk about their accomplishments no matter how big or how small. He was an avid woodsmen enjoyed anything hunting related. In his 20s Earle spent a short time in the army, before being honourably discharged. He then briefly worked for farmers. He spent the remainder of his working years with the telephone company (30 plus years), before taking an early retirement. During those retirement years he patiently waited on hunting season. He spent many seasons along-side his father until his passing, his life-long hunting friend Jimmy Davidson and both his sons. In the off season, he discovered a passion for refinishing antiques. We think he looked at “antiquing” as a form of hunting! He was always out looking for the next gem to refinish. He would recall in detail after every finished piece, just how many hours and layers went into bringing it back to its original beauty. Earle is survived by his beloved Mother Mrs. Lillian Coughran of Sackville; sons Craig Coughran (Amanda Hickey), Hammonds Plains, Kevin Coughran (Amanda) , Beaver Bank ; adored grandchildren, Rebecca Hickey, Karina Coughran , Brody Coughran. Earle was predeceased by his father Walter Coughran; maternal grandparents Lillian Pearl and Theodore Bremer; paternal grandparents Letitia and Frances Coughran. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held Friday 11 am in Oakridge Memorial Gardens. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers a charitable donation can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
