Earl Philip Mintern
Mintern, Earl Philip, age 69, of Dartmouth It is with great sadness that the family of Earl Mintern announces his sudden passing on Sunday, January 21st, 2018.Born in Halifax, N.S. Earl was the son of Rita and Philip Mintern of Dartmouth, N.S. He is predeceased by his parents and his brother Russell. Earl was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth. He graduated from Saint Mary’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and had a 35 year long career with Public Works Government Services Canada. Earl was a car enthusiast whose favorite destinations were the racetrack and beaches of Daytona, Florida and the mountains of North Conway, New Hampshire. He enjoyed his retirement years since 2007. Earl was a steadfast and loving husband and father. Earl is survived by Jennifer, his wife of 44 years, his sons, Philip (Caroline), Christopher (Vanessa) and his beloved grandson Wil, his sisters Greta, Marjorie (Bob), sister-in-law Dolly and many nieces and nephews. Thank you to the Emergency staff at Dartmouth General for their care and compassion. A private service will be held to celebrate his life. Donations on behalf of Earl may be made to the Dalhousie Medical Research Foundation.
