HARCOURT, NB
– It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of our
father, Duncan Savoy, 74. He fought a
courageous battle against cancer; however, he was called to
heaven on January 14, 2018. Raised in Tracadie he was a son of the
late George Savoy and Bessie Danyluk. As a
woodsman, he enjoyed a life surrounded by nature and exploring the
world around him with his
grandchildren.
He is survived by
our loving mother and his long-time friend, Diane Gaudet-Savoy of St.
Norbert; daughters: Natalie Savoy of Riverview, Jeanne Savoy of
Calgary and Cindy Savoy (Edward) of Targettville; his son Duncan Jr.
(Dina) of Rogersville; his grandchildren: Stephanie, Duncan Z,
Madison, Chloë, Ethen, Maëlle and Adèle;
his cousin, Alphonsine Savoie of Tracadie, as well as many nieces and
nephews. Besides his parents, Duncan was predeceased by his sister
Margaret and his brothers Donald and
Edward.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January
19th from 2:00pm –
4:00pm & 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Thompson’s
Funeral Home, Richibucto. A funeral service will be held on Saturday,
January 20th at 2:00pm at St.
Paul’s Anglican Church, Brown’s Yard with Rev.
Christopher Ketch presiding.
The family would
like to thank the Extramural nurses, Dr. Martin as well as all the
staff at the Stella Marie
Hospital.
