Obituary of Dr. Lalji GOHILL
Lal, beloved husband of Zarrein Gohill of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2018 in the comfort of his home, at the age of 87 years after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family and loved ones.
Lal was born in Ranavav, India, but grew up in Nakuru, Kenya. At the age of 17, he moved to the United Kingdom to pursue medical training at the University of Birmingham. After years of practicing medicine in the United Kingdom, Lal moved to Calgary, Alberta and started a family and his practice. He loved to travel and spend time with his family and friends.
He was a very humble and compassionate soul. He was loved for his generous, forgiving, and caring nature. Lal touched many lives and was loved and cherished by his patients, colleagues, friends, and anyone who was lucky enough to have met him. He had a zest for life and was always smiling.
Lal is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 47 years, Zarrein; his two children, his son, Raj and his wife Juliana of Miami; and daughter, Maya of Calgary; grandsons Nicholas, Matias, and Deven; brothers Kanti of Calgary; Vaju of Columbus, Ohio; Kishor of Paris, France; Kirit of Calgary; his sisters, Rama of Calgary and Sharda of Wales, UK; his brothers and sisters-in-law; many loving nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
Funeral Services will be held at CHAPEL OF THE BELLS, 2720 Centre Street N, on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Please forward condolences through www.calgarycrematorium.com
