Dr. King Chiu Kwong passed away peacefully to Heaven on Thursday October 18, 2018.
She was born June 29, 1921 in Guangzhou, China, the eighth of eleven siblings. Her father was Dr. Kwong Poon Sek, mother Lum Mo Kit.
She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Kwok King Yue in 1961.
She leaves her son Dr. Kevin Yue, daughter in law Jeannie Chow, grandson Jonathan Yue, many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
Dr. Kwong overcame much adversities. She survived World War Two, riots, revolution, and widowhood.
She immigrated twice, to Hong Kong 1956, then to Canada 1968.
Through determination and faith she re qualified to serve as a medical doctor in both Hong Kong and Canada. She was the first female Chinese general practitioner in Vancouver, and was loved by her patients.
Celebration of Life service is set for Thursday, November 1, 2018 1:00 PM at Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC.
There is Visitation starting at 12 noon.
Burial after the service.
