Dr. John Basil Bewick
1926-2018
BEWICK, JOHN B. – MDCM,
FRCP–
It is with deep sadness that the family of Dr. John B. Bewick
announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional
Hospital on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Born in Saint John, NB, on
November 1, 1926, he was a son of the late L.W. and Eleanor (Cline)
Bewick.
Dr. Bewick attended Saint John High School, UNB and McGill
University pursuing studies in Internal Medicine with a special
interest in Cardiology which he practiced on returning to Saint John
in 1958. He is survived by his sons: David (Cathy) of Saint John, NB
and James (Laura) of Rochester, NY; daughter Mary (Roger) of Aurora,
ON; sisters Peggy of Hartford, CT and Ann of Melbourne, FL; as well as
several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents,
he was predeceased by his wife Peggy (Tremble) and sons Douglas and
Bruce.
Arrangements are under the care of
Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Dr.
Bewick’s wishes there will be a private family service
followed by burial, with the Archdeacon, Arthur Gregg officiating. For
those who wish, remembrances may be made to the NB Heart and Stroke
