Dr Jan John George Fegler 2018

Obituary Overview
Dr. Jan (John) George Fegler
Dr. Jan (John) George Fegler sadly passed away on March 28th, 2018, in Red Deer, Alberta. He was born in Warsaw, Poland, on August 8, 1935.
Inspired by his father, Jan qualified as a medical doctor at the University Of Edinburgh, in 1958. In 1961, he married Dr. Hazel Stephens in London, England. They moved to Canada and settled in Stettler, Alberta, in 1965. Jan was a doctor with exceptional surgical skills, and a keen mind. He was a man of great integrity. Jan practiced medicine and surgery for 17 years in Stettler. He then worked in Hanna, Alberta, for a few years before moving to Bragg Creek, where he continued his medical practice in the area of Calgary, until his retirement in 2012.
Jan always took his hobbies seriously. Through the years, he had a variety of interests beginning with fishing and model airplanes. He obtained his pilot’s license and flew his family on many adventures. He travelled extensively through Europe and the United States with Hazel and his children. Jan had an inherent love of classical music and a lifelong passion for photography. His artistic eye captured the beauty of his surroundings. Home always included the companionship of animals; he particularly loved his German shepherds.
Jan is predeceased by his loving wife, Hazel, and will be lovingly missed by his daughter, Caroline, and son in-law, Al, of Red Deer, Alberta; his son, Andrew of Calgary; grandsons, Matthew and Nicholas (Seanna) of Red Deer, Alberta.
He is loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 7, 2018 at 1:00p.m. at Red Deer Funeral Home, 6150 67street.
