Douglas’ Obituary
It is with great sadness that the families of Douglas Philip Major announce his passing on Thursday, November 8th, 2018, at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, in Norris Pt, NL, in his 79th year.
He will be greatly missed by his children; Lorna (Eustace), of Sally’s Cove, Christine (Kevin) of Ontario, Philip (Rose), of Alberta, Brian (Lori) of Ontario, and Ann Marie (Lee), of Rocky Hr, his grandchildren; Sheldon (Shilayna), Shannon (Adam), Joshua, Jonathan, Markita (Scottie), Makenna, Meagan, Jeremy, Kyle, and Kennedy, his great grandchildren; Logan, Hunter, Alyssa, Shawna, Sophie, and Wade, his brothers; Lloyd (Vivian) and Cyril (Nadeen), his sisters; Greta, Marie (Wayne), and Ina (Dave). John Wight Jr his very special friend. Also a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended family and friends. Douglas was predeceased by his loving wife; Rohena Shirley nee Gilley, his parents; Philip and Effie Major, his sister; Gwen Hewlin, and brothers-in-law; Johnny Butt and Mike Hewlin.
The family will be receiving family and friends at St. Alban’s Anglican Church in Sally’s Cove, NL, on Monday, November 12th, 2018, from the hours of 11:00 am – 1:30 pm, where also the Memorial Service will take place from on Monday, at 2:00 pm, with Canon Terry Rose officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot of the Church cemetery in Sally’s Cove, NL, As per Douglas wishes cremation has taken place.
