Douglas Harvey

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Douglas Harvey announces his passing at the St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital in St. John’s, NL on Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 at the age of 64 years. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, Douglas was the son of the late William and Aggie Harvey (nee Hiscock). He was also predeceased by his wife Elizabeth Jane Harvey (nee Francis); father and mother-in-law Samuel (Martha) Francis (nee Walters); brothers William Harvey, Ross Harvey and brother-in-law Thomas Delorey.
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his daughters Jennifer (Christopher) Farrell of Port aux Basques, NL, Penny (Peter Janes) Turner of Glovertown, NL; sons Jeremy (Leanne) Harvey of Sydney, NS, Anthony (Becky Cameron) Harvey of Port Howe, NS; ten (10) grandchildren Brady, Christina, Jack, Kaden, Tan, Cassie, Kaylee, Mason, Aiden, Brooklyn; one (1) great-grandson Logan Farrell; special niece Brenda Hann of Isle aux Morts, NL; sisters Evelyn (Albert) Harvey, Isabella (Lockland) Keeping both of Isle aux Morts, NL; brothers Ephraim (Sybrina) Harvey of Isle aux Morts, NL, Rodger (Sylvia) Harvey of Thunder Bay, ONT, Gary (Ellen) Harvey, Rex (Trudy) Harvey both of Isle aux Morts, NL; sisters-in-law Louise Harvey, Elizabeth Harvey, Loretta Delorey all of Isle aux Morts, NL, Karen (Johnny) Neil of Neil’s Harbour, NS; brothers-in-law Clayton (Annetha) Francis of Isle aux Morts, NL, Goward (May) Francis of Fort St. John, BC, Samuel (Jacqueline) Francis of St. John’s, NL, Dorman (Eileen) Francis of BC, Garfield Francis, George (Rose) Francis both of Isle aux Morts, NL plus a very large circle of nephews and nieces.
In keeping with Douglas’ wishes, a private family visitation will take place on Friday, April 20th from 7-9 pm with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 22nd at 3 pm from the Holy Spirit Anglican Church in Isle aux Morts, NL with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family which will then be forwarded onward to a charity of the families choice.
