Douglas Everett Prosser
1939-2018
Douglas Everett Prosser, 78, of Salisbury and formerly
Petitcodiac, passed away Sunday, April 08, 2018 at the Moncton
Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born November 2, 1939 in
Petitcodiac he was a son of the late Garfield and Lavinia (Wilson)
Prosser.
Doug retired in 2001 from the credit office at MacDonald
Pontiac GMC where he worked for 25 years. He was previously employed
at Eaton’s for 19 years. Doug took pride in everything he did,
especially his garden which he would share with family and friends. He
enjoyed going to the woodlot and cutting his winter wood and also
enjoyed working in his woodworking shop. Doug enjoyed everything about
being out-doors; four-wheeling, walking, or piling
wood.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Madeline (Plume)
of Salisbury, cherished daughters Shelley Prosser of Moncton, Wendy
Prosser of Saint John and Stacey Coates (Faron McMackin) of River
Glade, one-grandson, Dylan Coates of Sus Corner. He is also
survived by his sister Doreen Rossiter (Willis) of Alma, and in-laws
who were like brothers and sisters to him, many nieces, including
special niece Krystal (Plume) Hunt, nephews and extended family
members.
A special thank you to Dr. Ismail Sharif, Dr. Erica Brown and
Dr. L Nayak for the compassion and care over the years. Also we thank
the wonderful nurses and volunteers of the Sheldon H. Rubin Oncology
Clinic. We are grateful to the nurses on 4100 and 3600 units for their
dedication to Doug. And to Michelle McKnight, a special thank
you.
Respecting Doug’s wishes there will be no funeral service or
visitation. A Graveside Service for family and friends in Loyalist
Cemetery, Havelock, followed by a reception, will be announced at a
later date. If desired, memorials to the Friends of the Moncton
Hospital’s Sheldon Rubin Oncology Centre, or Loyalist Cemetery would
be appreciated by the family.
