Obituary for
Dorothy Fry
Dorothy Fry, beloved wife of the late Clarence Fry, passed away September 19, 2018, at the age of 97.
Born June 15, 1921 in Croydon, England, Dorothy came to Canada as a British war bride. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence (55 years married) and her siblings Ray, George, Cliff, Trevor, Allwyn. She is lovingly remembered by her surviving sister, Shirley Hackett. Mom will be sadly missed by her children Lorraine, Neil(Gail), Brad(April), Glynis(Malcolm), grandchildren Debby, George(Jen), Nicole(Brad), Chantele, Ian(Erika), Meaghan(Mike), Erick, great-grandchildren Tylar and Cole and great-great grandson Silus.
Mom began her Canadian life in the mining community of Crow Lake, Ontario, eventually settling in Winnipeg. During the time she was raising her family, Mom worked a variety of jobs including A&W and Eaton’s Mail Order.
While Mom spent a significant portion of her life in Canada her passion for gardening and Sunday roast beef dinners stayed true to her British roots. Although dementia slowly took away many of Mom’s memories, the stories she told about living through the war and her long life of adventures are fondly remembered.
A private family remembrance will take place.
