Doris Thelma Walsh
1930-2018
It is with great sadness we announce the
passing of our mother, Doris Thelma Walsh, 87, of North Alton, on
Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Evergreen Home for Special Care,
surrounded by her loving family. Born on Gaspereau Mountain, she was a
daughter of the late Clinton and Edith (Farris) Walsh. She had been
employed with the Metropolitan Store, Kentville and later with Hostess
Foods, New Minas. She had been a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary
of the Royal Canadian Legion, Kings Branch No. 6, Kentville. Doris was
an active member of the North Alton Baptist Church, the Willing
Workers, the BWA, Ileitis and Colitis, Red Cross and the Highland
Seniors Club. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, doing puzzles,
bingo and most of all spending time with her family. She is survived
by three daughters, Sharon (James) Pineo, Upper Canard; Marlene
Andrews (Bruce Wood), Kentville; Elaine (Errol « Nickey »)
MacNutt, Pereau; three sons, Gary (Cindy) Parrish, North Alton; Larry
(Katherine) Parrish, Halifax; Vincent (Valerie) Parrish, North Alton;
a sister, Bernice Lloyd, Highbury; 12 grandchildren, Tanya (Wayne)
Walsh, Matthew (Krista) Parrish, Jennifer Parrish, Melissa Pineo
(Greg), Melissa (Barry) Lilly, Dwayne (Vanessa) Parrish, Nicole (Tim)
Keddy, Kimberly MacNutt (Brian), Adam (Eden) Parrish, Amanda Arenburg,
Evan MacNutt (Cara), and Stephanie Parrish (Pierce); 15 great
grandchildren, Ryley, Bailey, Cameron, Lex, Sariah, Kaden, Madison,
Parker, Jacob, Ryan, Mackenzie, Sadie, Lila, Kadence and August. She
was predeceased by her husband, Allison Parrish; a son, Andrew
Parrish; a sister, Lorraine Sewards; two brothers, Alden and Donald
and her grandson by marriage, Christopher Arenburg. Visitation will be
held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018 in the White Family
Funeral Home, Kentville. The funeral service, followed by a reception,
will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2018 in the North Alton
Baptist Church, Reverend Virginia DeAdder officiating. Interment will
take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill, Kings County.
Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral
arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
