Obituary of Doreen Maynard
Maynard, Doreen Kay (nee Armstrong)
Doreen passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Riverview Gardens at the age of 86.
Doreen was born in Walkerville, ON, on December 7, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Stewart and Eileen (nee Walker) Armstrong.
She was a longtime resident of Chatham, where she worked in a number of familiar places including Walkers and KMart, before becoming a volunteer at the Victoria Home and Public General Hospital. Doreen was an active member of St.Pauls Anglican Church. She was devoted to her family, her husband, their five children and their families.
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Donald Maynard (2015).
Loving mother of Diane Watson (Barry) of Chatham, Jan Isaacs (Bill) of Chatham, Cathy Cadotte (Brian) of Wallaceburg, Brian Maynard (Susan) of Chatham and Kevin Maynard (Jeff Murphy) of Mississauga.
Sadly missed by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham, ON, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral Service will take place at the McKinlay Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Elaine Wilcox, officiating.
A private family burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Wallaceburg.
Donations in memory of Doreen to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
