Peacefully, with her family by her side, mom passed away on her 96th birthday. Predeceased by her loving husband Jim Spaxman. Daughter of Mary Louise Buttenham and Frederick Steinmetz. Google Maps She was a longtime member of the Strabane Women’s Institute. Mom will be fondly remembered for her love of baking, especially her cookies and her “grandma buns”. She and dad spent many happy hours at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Our family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Macassa Lodge, C2E, who made mom’s last year very comfortable. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown, on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 2 p.m., until the Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Royal Botanical Gardens or a charity of your choice.
