Mrs. Donna Remington
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Donna, who went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 at the age of 76. Donna was born in Dresden to the late Roy and Mary Brown. She is survived by her husband Robert Remington and children Kathy (Lawrence) Howes, Julie Richmond (Joel Laprise), and David (Carla) Deighton all of Chatham, and Brenda Deighton (John Hucker) of Fort St. John, BC. Proud grandmother of Rob (Anita) Howes, Beckie (Paul) Goulet, Morgan, Taylor, Reece, and Cohen Richmond, and Drew, Lola, and Gabe Deighton. Great-grandmother of Katie and Kyliee Goulet, and Braiden and Brooklyn Howes. Also loved by step-children Rob (Donna) Remington and Lisa (Paul) Remington, and step-grandchildren Kevin and Courtney. Loving sister of June Smith of Chatham, Bus (Ethel) Brown of Dresden, and the late Ed Brown. Predeceased by husbands Laurie Deighton, Jack McFadden, and Dave Leach, and furry friend Bailey. Donna loved music and was adored for her piano playing for numerous churches in Chatham-Kent. She was a long-time member of the Fairport Rebekah Lodge. Her greatest loves in life were God, her faith, her family, her dog Bailey, baking, and shopping. As a young girl, Donna started her career as a Bell Canada operator in Chatham for 15 years. She also worked at various retail stores in Chatham-Kent. She will be fondly remembered for her bubbly personality and gift of gab. “Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.” Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710, on Sunday February 11th with visiting from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday February 12th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday February 12th at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rick Dressler officiating. Interment Dresden Cemetery. Friends planning an expression of remembrance are asked to consider Christian Children’s Fund, World Vision Canada or charity of choice.
