Obituary of Donald Hull
HULL – Donald James, age 79, of East Walton, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at home on October 12, 2018. Born on September 6, 1939 in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late William and Doris (Smith) Hull. Don was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and most recently found a love for cooking and baking. Don is survived by his daughters, Frances Clarke (David), Dartmouth; Donna Sheppard, Lower Sackville; Mechele Hull, Eastern Passage; and Suzanne Hull (Mark Hall), Ketch Harbour; his son Anthony “Tony” Hull (Brenda Pappin), Edmonton and eldest son William “Billy” Hull; and stepdaughter Sherry Edwards (Gabarus). He was a loving grandfather to Courtney, Nicole, Katie, Meaghen, Kristopher, Colleen, Kathryn, Jacob, and Zachary; and great-grandfather to Taylor, Carter, Violet, Abigail and Sebastian. Don is also survived by his sisters, Anne Marie Henneberry (James), Dartmouth; Vivian Creamer (Dennis), Halifax; and Patricia Merrick (Ron), Halifax. Besides his parents, Don was predeceased by his love of 52 years, Anita (Tyrrell) Hull, and grandson Matthew. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lee and Bonnie Patterson and Mickey and Joan Tomlinson, as well as other friends and neighbours for their thoughtful support and companionship for our father over the years. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a graveside memorial service open to everyone will be held on Sunday, October 21 at 2pm at the Moosebrook Cemetery, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating, with a reception to follow at the Minasville Hall. Donations in memory of Don may be made to Diabetes Canada, 137 Chain Lake Drive, Halifax, NS B3S 1B3.
