Obituary of Donald MacDonald
Donald Grant MacDonald, age 73 , of Westville, formerly of King’s Head, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at his home.
Born in King’s Head, he was a son of the late Angus and Mary (Grant) MacDonald.
Donald spent his life as a truck driver travelling throughout Canada and the U.S. He resided in Ontario for several years before returning to Pictou County in the 1980’s.
He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and most of all loved his visits from his grandchildren, who referred to his as « Grumpy ».
He will be dearly missed by his wife Carol (Ross); daughter, Donna Lynn Walstrom, Winnipeg; son Daniel MacDonald (Susan), Salt Springs; grandchildren, Cassidy, Zachary, Gemma MacDonald; stepson Rock Ross, Westville; sisters, Margaret Jean Rowe, New Glasgow; Betty Campbell, Glace Bay; Mary Morris (Gerald), Antigonish; Roseanne Chapman (Don), Stewiacke; brothers, John MacDonald (Carolyn), Kings Head; Angus MacDonald (Cathy), Kings Head; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no visitations. His funeral service will be held at 2 o’clock Monday from the Church of the Holy Name, Westville with Father Barrett Clair Johnson officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc.
