He achieved his Masters of Education through the universities of Western Ontario and Toronto. He was an educator at Sir James Dunn, Central High School, where he was promoted to principal, and ended his career at Sault Collegiate. After his retirement at the age of 55, he was able to pursue his love for travel. He especially enjoyed his condo in Port Charlotte, FL where he developed many lasting relationships. When he found a favourite, it led to many return trips, including Australia, Hawaii and cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. Don was a faithful lifetime member of St. Andrews United Church. He used his rich tenor voice in the choir where he served for over 60 years. When his health was failing his church family reached out and supported him. His hobbies included walking, reading the daily paper from front to back, following the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, working on his puzzle book, planning his next trip and being a life time learner. Given his love for travel he was often visiting his favorite travel agent Judy. Special mention has to made of his friend Ann Sloane. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Andrews United Church, 712 Wellington St. E. Reverend Eun-Joo Park officiating.
