Obituary Overview
Diane Millicent Smith
Smith, Diane Millicent – born in Weymouth, England on the 22nd of July, 1934 the oldest daughter of the late Gladys Barwell and Frederick Moss. Diane survived the War and a difficult transition when she moved to rural life on Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia. She met the love of her life there and together with Merle McKinnon Smith she started a family. Six children and many adventures followed. Two of her sons passed away and broke her heart. Her husband passed away last year and she continued to be brave until May 17th when she could no longer. Diane loved to read mysteries, and could bake a pie like no one else. She loved flowers and pretty things. Diane took care that things were alright and worried too much when they weren’t. Her sense of humour and flirtatious wit kept those around her smiling. Her loss is deeply felt and thinking of her dancing with our father and breathing easy are a comfort now. Forever remembered and loved. Till we meet again, Mom.
