Death Notice
Surrounded by her loving family after a four and a half month courageous struggle, Diane peacefully passed away due to complications from surgery at the age of 68. Beloved daughter of Victor Liorentas. Loving mother of Leanne Cooper and Lori (Charley) Lindsay. Cherished Nana of Adam (Kayla) Cooper, Braxton, and Kensley Lindsay. Dear sister of Scott James, Vicki Williams (Tony Dowswell) and Bruce James (Alice). Dear aunt of Jeremy (Krista), Kelly (Brad), Robin (Domonique), Brittanni, Christopher, Chloe and Colton. Fondly remembered by several great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and long time companion Neville Kemp. Predeceased by her parents Garnet James and Wilma Liorentas. Diane will be missed by her beloved pets, Jazzy, Polar Bear, and Willow. Diane was a long time employee at the Drawbridge Inn. Diane loved her job as a front desk receptionist where she greeted everyone with a smile. Diane forged many lifetime friendships during her 25 years of dedicated service. Diane was known for her smile, her kindness, her generosity and her passion of animals. She was an advocate for many. Diane was the family historian and loved to share stories of her childhood in Northern Ontario. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors for their compassionate and loving care of Diane both at Bluewater Health 4th and 5th floors and London Victoria Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Diane’s life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Sympathy can be expressed through donations to The Sarnia & District Humane Society or Bluewater Health – Palliative Care.
