Dennis D. Haynes
1934-2018
The death of Dennis David
Haynes, 83, of Tidnish Bridge, NS, occurred on Tuesday,
April 17, 2018 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center.
Born in Amherst he was the son of the
late Charles and Edith (nee Townsend) Haynes.
Dennis was a member of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was a member of the Tidnish Fire
Department for a number of years and a water well driller by
trade. In addition he had been a commercial fisherman,
having enjoyed his time fishing smelts on the Tidnish
River.
Dennis was a devoted and loving father,
grandfather, and great grandfather.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of
sixty years, Doris-Mae (nee Dahr), Tidnish Bridge; a daughter,
Kimberly DeWitt, of Sooke, BC; sons, Bruce (Marlene) of Grande
Prairie, AB, and Mark (Amanda) of Kelowna, BC; twelve grandchildren
and seven great grandchildren, as well as sister Dorothy of Halifax,
and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased
by his daughter, Holly; brothers, Arthur, Eugene, John and Douglas and
a sister Dulcie.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church
St., Amherst, NS (902-667-8777) where visiting hours will take place
on Friday, April 20, 2018, from 6-8 pm. The funeral service
will be held from Furlong~Jones Funeral Home on Saturday, April 21,
2018 at 2 pm. Burial will take place in the Riverside
Cemetery, Tidnish Bridge, in the spring..
Those wishing to make a donation in
Dennis’s name may do so to the Canadian Red Cross, or a
charity of the donor’s choice.
