Obituary of Della McLean
Peacefully at home with her family close on June 6th, 2018; Della Bonita McLean (neé Scott) entered the Kingdom of God with grace. She will be dearly missed by her husband Russell McLean. Dear mother of Mary-Ann Wisenberg (Gerry), Douglas (Pam), Scott (Robin), Howard (Sherry), Heather (Burr), Matthew (Chris) and Jody (Monty). Loving grandmother of Erin and Alex McFadden, Jared, Meghan and Ryan McLean, Samantha, Lara (1989) and Victoria McLean, Maysee and Kylar McLean, Hope Atkinson, Calum, Aidan and Lachlan McLean, Taylor and Nikki Kuntz and Grayson Taylor. Proud great-grandmother of Abby McLean, Betty and Eadie Murphy and Dryden McFadden. Survived by sisters-in-law Patricia McLean and Cathy Scott and brother-in-law Duncan MacRae.
Predeceased by her parents Walter and Ethel Scott, siblings Deanne, Ewart, Keith, Howard Scott and Donelda MacRae and brother-in-law Roy McLean.
She will be greatly missed by her extended family and friends.
Della was a proud Registered Nurse and graduate of Sarnia General School of Nursing (1954) and known for her devoted and conscientious patient care.
In 1955 she happily married Russell McLean and enjoyed over 62 years of marriage. Together they raised 7 healthy, happy and successful children who have been their pride and joy.
Della was an active and faithful member of the Brigden and Guthrie Presbyterian Churches and participated as a Sunday School teacher and Women’s Group member for many years.
She actively participated in 4-H in her youth and served as a 4-H leader when her children were active members.
Della’s kind heart and unconditional love for her family was so beautifully displayed when the twins Aidan and Lachlan were born. While Russ held Aidan, Della held and comforted her dear Lachlan. The two of them developed a mutual and enduring love.
Relatives and friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Friday, June 8th, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service for Della will be held at Guthrie Presbyterian Church, 3256 River Street, Alvinston, on Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at 11 a.m. Rev. Jo-Anne Symington officiating. Interment to follow in Bear Creek Cemetery, Brigden. In Della’s memory, donations to the Guthrie Presbyterian Church. Alvinston would be appreciated by the family.
