Mr. Dell Joseph Bedard
Passed away peacefully at Tansley Woods Long Term Care Home in Burlington in his 89th year. Predeceased in June by his loving wife Barbara after 57 years of marriage. Loving father to Jeffrey and his wife Janet and Jane and her husband Doug Sturdivan. Proud Grandpa to Jack, Elizabeth and William. Dear brother to Rita, Betty, the late Audrey and brother-in-law to Jean McCharles. Special uncle to Susan Kiyonaga and her husband Ken, Karen Clyde and her husband Adam and Gregg McCharles and his wife Stephanie.
Born in Ottawa, Dell « Sonnie`was raised in Brockville with his 3 older sisters. He spent much of his youth on the St. Lawrence River swimming, rowing, and occasionally diving for pennies at the wharf.
Dell joined The Ford Motor Company of Canada in 1953 when the Oakville Assembly Plant began operations. During his tenure he served as the Industrial Relations Manager and Manager of Personnel Benefits before retiring in 1986.
In his retirement years, Dell and Barb enjoyed spending time with their good friends, whether it was travelling, playing tennis at Lawson Park, or playing golf at the Villages at Country Creek.
His sincerity, loyalty, wit, and above all his love will be greatly missed. He was a gentle soul that deeply touched so many. Rest peacefully Dad, you will remain forever in our hearts.
