Debbie Boon
Boon, Debbie (Leedham), It is with heartfelt sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Debbie, in the Dartmouth General Hospital on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the age of 62 years. Debbie was born in Middleton, Connecticut on November 8th, 1955 to Lillian (Drake) and the late Kenneth Leedham, she was the eldest of five children. She will be sadly missed by her daughter; Jennifer Grant, her mother Lillian, stepfather; Donald Flemming and siblings; Steven (Elizabeth), Kevin (MaryJane), Dartmouth; Glenn (Annette), Andrea (John Kolstee), Brookfield, stepsons; Criag (Lara), Ashley(Sandi), Musquodoboit, brother and sister in law; Ken Boon and Paula Assenza, Toronto, as well as many nieces and nephews and step grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Mike Boon. Debbie spent most of her youth in Bible Hill, graduating from CEC. Debbie then lived in Calgary for a short time, before settling in Dartmouth. After working for 18 years at the East Coast Credit Union, she retired a few years ago. Since retirement, she has enjoyed spending her time volunteering at the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter with all of her furry friends. She also enjoyed spending her weekends going to yard sales. She was always up for a nice walk and watching the cardinals at the backyard feeder. She enjoyed spending her evenings cuddled up with her fur grandbaby, Dorothy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday Aug 18, 2018 at 2 PM in Atlantic Funeral Homes 771 Main Street Dartmouth, with Rev James Haughn officiating. Those wishing to make a donation in Debbie’s memory may do so to the Bide Awhile Animal Shelter or a charity of your choice.
