David Harold Osborne
January 25, 1939 – August 11, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Harold Osborne on August 11, 2018.
David spent his 79 plus years enjoying the things he loved most; working outside, entertaining his friends with crazy stories, or enjoying a great meal accompanied by a cold drink.
If someone was looking for David he wasn’t hard to find; he was either home with Lillian, in the garage, in the garden, playing cards or hanging out with his son Jeff who lived across the road. Jeff looked forward to his best friend checking in on his latest project most days of the week or lending a helping hand before his declining health kept him inside most of the time.
Anyone who knew David knew that his garden could feed a small village and that he enjoyed weeding more than anyone should. If you dropped by when the garden was robust, you wouldn’t be able to leave without a bag filled with the best vegetables in town.
Known as the man who had whatever it is you are looking for, he took great pride in being able to help someone out with whatever obscure thing they were looking for; knowing exactly where to find it in one of his buildings in the barnyard or garage.
David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lillian Osborne; sons Jeffrey (Gillian) and Timothy (Jennifer), grandchildren Liam and Caleb and sister Elizabeth.
David was predeceased by his father Harry, mother Phyllis and sister Janet.
A special thank you to everyone on 4 West at the Dartmouth General who cared for David in his final week.
There will be no funeral per David’s wishes. He invites you instead, to gather with friends and have drink in his name, celebrating a life well lived.
