It is with great sadness that the family of David Washington announces that he passed away peacefully at home with Heather and Zoie by his side after his courageous battle with cancer on September 19, 2018 in Victoria, BC.
He was born on September 25, 1945 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to British Columbia when he was a young boy.
He is predeceased by his mother, father and Shirley. David is survived by his wife, Heather; sons, Jason (Dom), Michael (Donna), Steven, Jason (Marty); grandchildren, Ella, Quinn, Brodie, Abigail and Dylan; sisters, Marilyn (Lyn), Pat (Greg); nieces and nephews, Jill, Ryan, Colin, Matt and Chris and his loyal companion, Zoie.
David worked in the automotive industry for 35 years and is remembered for always treating his clients with honesty and respect.
He was an active member of the Masonic Order in Victoria, a member of Haida Lodge No. 166, Master of the Lodge in 1988 and 1998. He served Grand Lodge as the District Deputy Grand Master for District 21 in 2005. He was a 32° member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Victoria.
We would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of the Lung Transplant Team who always provided us with 150% dedication and care, also the Hospice Doctors and Nurses who continued to care for Dave during his final few weeks. Dave appreciated every one of you more than you will ever know! Thank you all.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sequoia Centre at McCall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Drive on Friday, October 5th 2018, at 2:00 pm. Condolences may be offered to the family below.
