In Loving Memory
David Earl St. Croix age 71 of Amherst passed away peacefully while surrounded by loved ones Thursday evening, October 4, 2018 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan.
Born March 5, 1947 in Springhill, NS he was a son of the late Earl and Anna (Nelson) St. Croix.
David grew up in Nova Scotia and lived in several communities, returning to Amherst where he provided maintenance for numerous buildings.
In his spare time he enjoyed walking, painting, watching movies, especially “Dog the Bounty Hunter” and trying his luck on scratch tickets.
His favourite hangout spot was Tim Hortons where he always appreciated a warm cup of coffee.
He leaves behind to mourn his sisters, Ruth (Leslie) Strang, Amherst, Dorothy (Lyndon) Thomas, Pugwash, and Barb, Hamilton ON, Long-time friend and caregiver, Mary Theresa Gillis, son, Earl as well as extended family.
In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his sister, June Nieforth.
A time of visitation for David will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 – 2:00pm followed immediately by the funeral service at 2:00pm with Rev. Jonathan Cole officiating, with reception to follow, all in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. A private interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery following reception.
In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions in David’s memory can be made to the Amherst Food Assistance Network, Cancer Assistance fund or the L.A Animal Shelter.
