BAKER, David Gordon “Dave”
Passed away at the P.R.H.C. on September 18, 2018, after a short illness. Dave Baker formerly of Big Cedar Lake, Lakefield and Sherbrooke Heights Peterborough in his 89th year. Loving husband and best friend of Joan Baker (Coates). Cherished father and role model of Kathy Armstrong (John) of Apsley, Jeffrey Baker of Peterborough and Brian Baker of Burlington, and daughter in spirit, Carol Shewen. Beloved Grandpa and “Poppy” of Karrie Fancy (Andrew) of Oshawa, Bethany Armstrong of Peterborough, Jared Baker (Katelyn) of Lakefield, Melissa Pocket (Garrett) of Haliburton and Trisha Baker of Peterborough. Beloved great-grandfather of Aubrey and Jude. Also survived by his sisters Pherne McKee (Bill) of Live Oak Florida, Joyce Corner (d. Don) of Stony Lake, Diane Ferguson (d. Dave) of Cambridge and brother-in-law David Coates (Regina) of Moncton. Predeceased by his parents Gordon and Mildred Baker and son John David (d. 1956). Many thanks to all the nurses and physicians involved in Dave’s care from the ER through to the palliative care unit. You were all so kind and caring in your treatment of Dave and compassionate with all the family members. Interment Lakefield Cemetery for immediate family only.
