Stewart, David Austin – Age 75 of Middle Musquodoboit, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2018, at home. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Fisher) Stewart.
David enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and spent time panning for gold in Moose River. He had been a carpenter and a woodsman in his younger years. In the last few years of his life, David spent more time connecting with his family.
Surviving are sons, Donald, Westville; Craig (Kathy), Stewiacke East; Derek (Tammy), Truro; Shaune (Julie), Shortt’s Lake; grandchildren, Vanessa and Nathaniel (Caitlyn) MacBurnie; Kody and Lauren Stewart; Riley and Paige Stewart; great-grandson, Dax MacBurnie; brother, Duane (Connie); sister, Donna Fleck; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by wife, Jeanne Powers; daughter, Judylee MacBurnie; brother-in-law, Lloyd Fleck.
Cremation has taken place. Burial will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperative, Upper Musquodoboit.
