Age 69 of Clam Bay passed away peacefully April 30, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Norman and Hazel (Webber) Doherty. Darrell retired in 1999 after 30 years of service as a supervisor, Public Works with the H.R.M. He is survived by his wife Penny (Falkenham) daughters; Darlene (Bernard Conrad), Jackie (Mike White); stepdaughter Kim (Joel LeClerc), stepson; Joe Laba (Julie LeClerc), granddaughters; Ashley Conrad, Brittany (Callum McCormack), Jessica (Richard Pettipas), step granddaughter; Devyn Laba, grandsons Cody Lee, Jordan Lee and Nicholas Lee, step grandsons; Joel LeClerc Jr., Dalton Laba, great grandsons; Kegan Conrad, Owen McCormack and step great grandson Owen Laba. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Darrell truly enjoyed his wood working hobby and riding his ATV in the woods with his good friend Ivan Zinck. He always went above and beyond to help people. The family wishes to thank the staff, Dr. Karl Tennessen, Dr. Siva and the continuing care nurses for their home visits. A special thanks to Lynn Gillis Palliative Care nurse for her exceptional support in our time of need. Arrangements have been entrusted to Dartmouth Funeral Home. Memorial service 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church (corner Wentworth & Ochterloney Street, Dartmouth) Rev. Kyle Wagner, officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall, with burial to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Twin Oaks Memorial Hospital.
