Obituary Overview
Darlene Elizabeth Anderson
With broken hearts and unimaginable pain we say goodbye to our special angel Darlene Elizabeth Anderson, 49, of Dartmouth. She peacefully slipped away with her mother and sister by her side, surrounded by her loving family on a beautiful afternoon on Thursday April 19, 2018 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Darlene loved music and lived to perform. Her birthday party was the highlight of the year and her passion for her purses and wallets were like no other. Darlene touched lives all around her. The best gift she gave us was her very life. She taught us about love and inspired us to be better. May we never forget these beautiful gifts every time we look up to the sky, past the clouds, and see the rainbow. She was a gift to each of us.
She is survived by her devoted mother Helen Anderson and will be sadly missed by her loving sister Christine Dixon (Terry); loving brothers Stephen and Shane Anderson (Amy); Crystal Doherty Anderson; Niece and Nephews; Alyssa, Brandon (Megan), Ryan, Linkin, Jonas, and Oxner.
Predeceased by her loving father Stephen and her adoring grandparents Francis and Helene Bellefontaine and Helgie and Jean Anderson.
The family is grateful for the exceptional care from family physician, Dr. Kenneth Cameron for his perseverance for going beyond and taking every resource possible to keep Darlene here with us. We would like to thank Kim MacDonald for her support and for taking that last walk with Darlene. We would also like to thank the wonderful nurses on three West. Special thank you to Stephanie Totton for her great sense of humour and compassion and for being with us and Darlene on that day we did not want to come. Thanks to Melanie Cappello, Julie Matthews, and Ranelle MacMasters for your beautiful care and compassion making Darlene and us feel so comfortable in the last three months. Thank you to the Respiratory staff for being there when we needed you. Thank you to the ER Nurses, VON, and paramedics that have helped and have been involved in Darlene’s care over the past two years. I am grateful for the love and support from my sister Sharon, brother Donald, and my niece Lynn.
Cremation has taken place. The funeral will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday April 25 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street. Burial to follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home.
