1947-2018
Whidden, Daniel Wade
– 70, Greenfield, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in
the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with his loving family
by his side. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Harold and
Lillian (MacKay) Whidden.
Daniel enjoyed the outdoors,
four wheeling with his many friends and residing at his camp in
Greenfield with his canine companion Smokey. He worked the majority of
his life in construction with Local Union 615 until his retirement.
He is survived by sisters,
Maxine (Roland) Davies; Eleanor (John) Langille; Colleen (Delmar
Cavanaugh); Jo-Ann (David) Pearl; brother, Phillip; many nieces and
nephews of whom he was very close to. Along with his parents, he was
predeceased by his twin brother Darrel in 1999.
Arrangements have been
entrusted to Mattatall-Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
There will be no visitation or funeral service by Daniel’s
request. A graveside service will be held in Harmony Cemetery at a
later date. If so desired, donations may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice
