Cornelis Charles deJong
Went to be with his Heavenly Father, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, in his 88th year, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Beloved husband of Cornelia (nee Overeem) for over 62 years. Loved father of Lydia Cuthbert (David), Chuck deJong (Judith) and Sylvia Smits (Andy). Cherished grandfather of Brielle (Dave), Chalaine (Jeff), Leanne (Peter), Scott (Christy), Lindsey (Jeremy), Kevin and Mark (Stefanie) and great-grandfather of Walter, Elias,Wyatt, Noah, Eli, Gemma, Maddie, Evelyn, Peyton, Noah, Kingston, Aariyah, Kai and baby Smits. Cornelis is predeceased by his parents and by many sisters and brothers. He will also be missed by many family members in Canada and Holland. Cremation has taken place. Visitation at STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, GRIMSBY (905-945-2755) on Monday, November 19, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Service of Remembrance at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow the Service at the Funeral Home. Interment Grimsby Mountain Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to McNally House Hospice would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
