CORBIN, Ruth Beverly (nee McDonald)
Dec 9, 1933 (Shamrock, Saskatchewan) – Aug 13, 2018 (Stony Plain, Alberta)
It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Beverly Corbin announces her passing on August 13th, 2018.
Ruth was born on the family farm in Shamrock, Saskatchewan as the youngest of three girls. After she completed her education, she became a nurse at the Vanguard hospital, where she met her future husband, Jack. Jack and Ruth were married 63 years. In the early 60’s they moved to Calgary and raised two daughters, Roxanna and Torie. Ruth enjoyed several jobs over the years including the Florabelle Dress Shop and Mount Royal College.
For much of her life she and Jack were camping enthusiasts. Ruth was very kind hearted and took in homeless animals and people needing a place to stay, always lending a helping hand. Ruth will be forever remembered by her daughter Torie (Tracey); grandchildren, Barret (Shawneen), Jared (Morgan), McLain, Coral; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Special mention goes out to her dear friends Angie, Dee and Terry for always being there and Arthur for always keeping in touch. Our thanks also extend to the staff at Westview Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.
Ruth was predeceased by her daughter Roxanna (2010) and husband Jack (2017). At Ruth’s request, no formal service will be held. An interment for her and Jack will take place in Aneroid Sask. at a later date.
If friends desire, memorial tributes can be made in Ruth’s honor directly to the Poppy Fund , #14539 – 6th Street NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 3Z6 or Light Up Your Life, Tri-Community Palliative Hospice Society (Stony Plain), 4405 South Park Drive, Stony Plain, AB, T7Z 2M7.
