Constance « Connie » Thelma (Raine) Eldridge
We announce the passing of our wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and sister after a brief illness on the morning of March 27, 2018. Born in Halifax on September 23,1933, the daughter of Robie and Rita Raine (Matheson). She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leslie and her children, Paul (Inez) Fredericton, NB, Gail, St. John’s NL, Carolyn, Lr. Sackville, NS, Peter (Pamela) Castlegar, BC, Pamela (Andre), Gander, NL, and by her grandchildren, Pamela, Denis, Julia, Emily and Hannah who adored their grandmother and who were the light of her life. She will also be remembered by a large circle of brothers, sisters, nieces and nephew and many friends and neighbors, especially Pearl Campbell. She was active in her church, Fairview United, which included UCW and CGIT. She was recognized as an outstanding volunteer at the Sir Fredrick Fraser School. Mom loved to read the paper daily, especially the comics and her Harlequin Romances. Mom also enjoyed baking, knitting, a good crime drama and being with her family. She will be sadly missed by all. We would like to thank Doctor Deanna Swimmer at Gladstone Health Center for many years of great care. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be taking place Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 6-8 pm and Sunday, April 1, 2018 2-4 pm with a funeral service on Monday April 2nd 2018 at 11 am at JA Snow Funeral Home on Lacewood Drive in Halifax. Donation may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
