Connie’s Obituary
Quartermain, Connie Marie – Age 61, of Kingston, NS., passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 in Kentville Valley Regional Hospital. Born Dec 11, 1957, in Middleton, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Marie (Purvis) Nogler. Connie is dearly missed by her husband of 40 years, Craig; daughters, Amber (Matthew) Power of Bedford, NS; Alissa Quartermain of Kingston, ON; sisters, Betty (Vernon) Caldwell of Kingston, NS; Carolyn (Rick) Green of Halifax, NS; Cheryl Durham of Italy Cross, NS; brothers, Paul (Ruth) Nogler of Charlottetown, PEI; Ronnie (Belinda) Nogler of Pleasantville, NS; Danny (Sharon) Nogler of Greenwood, NS; Bobby (Sarah) Nogler of Conn’s Mills, NS; Scott (Angela) Nogler of Wilmot, NS; as well as many, many nieces and nephews.
Connie was raised in Wilmot, NS and graduated from Middleton Regional High School. After marrying the love of her life, Craig, they settled in the Kingston/Greenwood area where they started their family. Connie provided child care and worked part-time in retail for the first few years of their children’s lives so she could be at home with them as much as possible in their younger years. Connie’s love for children motivated her to become an Educational Assistant and she worked many years at West Kings District High school where she was loved and admired by many staff and students. She was very involved in sports throughout her entire life and she enjoyed gardening, sewing, cake decorating, roller blading, biking, yoga and spending time with her family and friends. In her later years, she and Craig spent their retirement years visiting their children, going on hikes, taking family vacations, going on drives around Nova Scotia and discovering fun adventures together. Connie was a loving, friendly and kind person who would do anything for anyone and always put the needs of others before her own. Everyone who knew Connie loved her and admired her positive spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In keeping with Connie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring/Summer of 2019. Donations may be made to the Autism Nova Scotia Annapolis Valley Chapter or Special Olympics Nova Scotia.
