OBITUARY
Christiaan Heikoop
November 17, 1920 – December 2, 2018
On December 2, 2018 the Lord took to Himself Christiaan Heikoop at the age of 98.
Dearly beloved husband of Lena Heikoop for over 71 years. Cherished father of Coby Heikoop, Martin and Lori Heikoop, Chris and Sjaane Heikoop, and Susanna McEachern (Brian predeceased in July 2018). Loving grandfather to Michelle and Marvin Van Maanen, Chris and Machteld Heikoop, Elena and Byron Slingerland, John Heikoop, Martinus McEachern and April Van Driel, and Emma Walerius. He was blessed with 13 great-grandchildren: Timothy, Hope, Samantha, Noah, Jaelynn, Seth, Parker, Amalia, Bentley, Hudson, Grace, Marshall and Mona.
Christiaan was born in the Netherlands in 1920. He was educated as a teacher and also earned a Degree in Divinity. In 1946 he became the youngest principal in the Netherlands. Christiaan immigrated to Canada with his wife and 3 children in November 1952. In 1954 they moved to Calgary where he worked in the housing industry as a controller until his retirement in 1982. His greatest work was guiding his children and grandchildren in the wondrous ways of the Lord.
