Cheryl Anne Morrison
1951-2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Cheryl Anne
(Kinch) Morrison announces her passing on February 16, 2018 at
Fredericton Hospice. Born and raised in Barbados, West Indies, she was
the daughter of the late Dr. Eyre and Bernice Kinch and the wife of
William « Bill » Morrison of
Fredericton.
Cheryl is also survived by daughters, Krista (Josh) Ballem of
Halifax and Heidi (Luke) Giles of Fredericton; son, Colin (Amy)
Morrison of Fredericton; brothers, Larry Kinch of Barbados and David
Kinch of Guelph; sisters, Pamela (David) Reece of Barbados, Jeanette
(Neil) Gittens of Barbados and Anita Kinch of Guelph; and step mother,
Dr Janice Kinch of Calgary.
Her precious grandchildren are Taylor and Peyton Ballem,
Emmett and Phoenix Giles, and Harper and Zoey Morrison.
Cheryl received her BBA from UNB in 1973 and enjoyed a wide
variety of accounting jobs over the years in Bathurst and
Fredericton. She maintained her own accounting business
until very recently. Above all else, her focus was on
raising and nurturing her family. She has been actively involved with
each of her grandchildren spending much of her time and energy sewing,
knitting, teaching, and caring for them. She had many
artistic interests ranging from painting to lamp shade making, and
spent numerous happy hours tending to her gardens.
She enjoyed golf, especially with her « buddies » and
became passionate about pickle ball both in Fredericton and Bill and
Cheryl’s winter destination in Pensacola, Florida. She was
quick to make new friends wherever they travelled in Canada, the U.S.,
or on international cruises.
The family will be forever grateful to the many medical
specialists and caregivers who so generously provided for her needs
during her illness. Her many friends and family provided
support and comfort throughout.
The family will receive visitors on Monday February 19, 2018,
at McAdams Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm. A memorial service
will be held at J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Tuesday February 20 at
2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity
of the donor’s choice.
