Obituary of Charlie Johnston
Charlie “Chuck” Robertson Johnston, November 13, 1931 – February 20, 2018. With loving remembrance, the family of Chuck Johnston announce his passing after a short illness at the age of eighty-six years.
Chuck is survived by: his sons, Thomas (Darcie), Douglas (Dana) and Robert; his daughter Karen (Walter) Flamand; and his four grandchildren, Brooks, MacKenzi, Bronwyn, and Kathleen.
Chuck was predeceased by: his wife, Annie (2011) of 50 years.
Chuck loved the outdoors as seen through his work, being at the lake and family cabin, helping others with their backyard projects, and his many hunting and fishing trips. His love of the outdoors was only second to his passion for sports. From playing to coaching to building a sense of community through sport, Chuck passed that passion onto his children and to the many others whom he touched.
He leaves a legacy of warmth, giving, caring, and precious memories to all who knew him. We will all miss him.
Our Dad was a very private person at his core and did not wish any sort of a formal service. Thanks to all of his relatives, friends, and acquaintances for understanding and supporting his wish.
