Cathy Ann Kavanaugh
1964-2018
Cathy Ann
Kavanaugh,53, of Richibucto and formerly of Riverside-Albert passed
away unexpectedly on February 11th, 2018 at her home. She
was dealing very courageously with a brief battle of
cancer.
She was born in Moncton on November 28th, 1964 the daughter
of John MacDonald and Patricia Ryan.
She was a member of the St. John’s United Church.
Cathy was a housewife and mother, her family meant the world to
her. Her greatest wish was that her husband, children and
grandchildren always knew how much she loved them and they walk
through the rest of their lives knowing how much she cared.
Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, she loved them
all. She spent many of cold days and nights in the hockey
rink cheering on her grandson, Colton, she was his number one
fan. Cathy felt so blessed to have spent time with the
newest little angel, Khloe, who is just turning 3 weeks old. Making a
few more memories to cherish as she was so proud. We are sure
many stories of nanny Cathy will be shared over the years.
She had a special place in her heart for animals , always wanted to
take the strays home with her. Cathy was a very caring
person and was a caretaker to her ailing mom and always someone you
could count on. She lived every moment she was given,
neither hard times nor cancer would rob her of who she was.
Always smiling and pressing on until God called her home. « I have
fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the
faith. » 2 Timothy 4:7 . We love you and you will live on in our
hearts forever.
She will be deeply missed by her father, John MacDonald
(Janice) of Moncton; mother, Patricia Ryan of Rexton; Step-mother,
Carol MacDonald of Calhoun; beloved husband and best friend, Terry
Kavanaugh of Richibucto; treasured children, Amy Dawn Bennett (Mike
Copp) of Hillsborough, Jeremy Bennett (Alicia) of Edgett’s Landing and
Brad Bennett of Riverside-Albert; step-son, Justin Carr (Kara) of
Riverview; her cherished grandchildren, Colton, Olivia, Ava, Kaidyn
and Khloe; sisters, Tracy Sherwood (Darren) of Cambridge Narrows and
Kelly Cosman (Jason) of Moncton; brothers, David MacDonald (Amber) of
Moncton, Randy MacDonald of Halifax, Travis Ryan (Caitlin) of Saint
John and Lloyd Lutes (Melanie) of Moncton. She will also be
sadly missed by several nieces, nephews, all her extended family and
many friends.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Jack
MacDonald (aka Gum Grampy) and Georgie MacDonald (aka Cookie Nanny);
maternal grandparents, Martha Simmons and Lou
Keirstead.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral
Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The
funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at the Albert
County Funeral Home on Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at 2:00pm with
Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Following the service the
family will be meeting for further sharing of memories and for
refreshments at the funeral home. Interment will be held at
a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Forest Dale
Home Foundation – Activity Department would be greatly
appreciated. She would want others to laugh and have fun and
to benefit in her memory.
