Obituary Overview
Remembering . . .
Cathie, beloved wife of the late William Ernest Watson, passed away with her family at her side.
She was the loving mother of Jan (Leon) Mitchell and Diane Watson. She was adored by her grandchildren, David (Michelle), Laura and Cara (Alfie) and her great granddaughter Kaia. Cathie was predeceased by her parents, Daniel Howard and Ethel Jeanette MacIntosh and her brothers, Howard (Ruth) and Ian (Margaret) MacIntosh.
Cathie was born in Red Deer but grew up in Winnipeg. She loved spending summers at her family’s cottage at Gull Lake, Manitoba. Cathie had many happy times with relatives and all the friends she made at the lake. Meanwhile, her future husband, born and raised in Winnipeg, was spending his summers at his family’s cottage on Laclu, near Kenora, Ontario. This is where they met. They settled in Winnipeg, with her younger brother, Ian, living just up the street.
After the birth of their two daughters, Cathie and Bill’s adventurous spirit kicked in, moving the family throughout Western Canada. The furthest the family went was Terrace, BC, where the family started their camping adventures. The family ended up in Calgary, where Cathie worked as an Office Manager at a law firm. After her retirement, she and Bill moved to Vancouver Island where Cathie discovered her passion for painting. She and Bill enjoyed going for drives, walks along the beaches and camping in Tofino. They eventually settled in Invermere, where Cathie volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society and the local library.
After Bill’s passing in 2008, she moved to Calgary to be close to her family. In her down time, Cathie enjoyed knitting, painting, reading and crosswords. She loved cooking for her family and baking delicious treats for her grandchildren.
Cathie was affectionate, caring, compassionate and such a great listener and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Catherine Mary Watson nee MacIntosh 2018..
