After a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer Chuck Soumang passed away peacefully on Thursday February 1, 2018 at Shorncliffe with family by his side. Chuck is predeceased by his brother Frank, his brother Bill, and his sister Johanna. He is survived by his sister Wilma and brother John and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his children James Soumang (Brittany), Jason Soumang (Diane), Angela Soumang (Keith), and Robert Soumang, and his stepson Paul Laurence (Marketta), his step grandchildren Jesse, Michael, Paige and Brooklyn. Chuck was born in Rotterdam Holland in 1938. He immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings in 1956 at the age of 18. Chuck settled in Gibsons and raised his family on the Sunshine Coast. Chuck was an employee of Howe Sound Pulp and Paper for over 25 years. He took an early retirement at age 61. Chuck will be missed and not forgotten.
