Carolina “Carla” Gesina Pol, age79, of R.R. # 1 Sebringville, passed away into the presence of her Lord and Saviour on Friday, November 16, 2018 at St. Marys Hospital (Kitchener). Born in Gravenhage, Netherlands, daughter of the late Egbert and Maria (deJonge) Hamer. Survived by her true love and best friend Jacob “Jack” Pol of 59 years, Proud and loving mother of Sylvia (Harold) Bruulsema, Jack (Liz) Pol Lydia Pol. Bernita (Martin) Stroud, Alisha Pol. Oma to grandchildren Corey (Diana), Theo, Alena, Andrew, Christina, Summer, Daisy, Ripley, Caeden and Oma to great grandson Simon. Carla loved music; singing in the choir and playing her harmonica. She will be missed by her friends at Spruce Lodge and Hillside Nursing Home where she volunteered faithfully. Carla is survived by her siblings; Bert Hamer, Ron Hamer, Mary (Karl) Gingerich and her brother and sister-in-law’s; Lewie (Nellie) Pol, Els Pol, Wendy Pol-Baergen, Bep Pol, Bertha DeJonge and her many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Carla was predeceased by her brother Charles Hamer, brothers-in-law Art Pol, Bill Pol and sisters-in-law Ruth Hamer Betty Meinen and her husband Henk. Family and friends may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Memorial Baptist Church, 113 Bruce Street, Stratford on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at 10:00.a.m. Interment to follow in Avondale Cemetery with reception in church hall.
